Audrey Elaine Wilde (nee: Helgeson)

April 29, 1939 — May 24, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother at the age of 86.

Audrey was born in Pleasantdale, Saskatchewan. She was predeceased by her devoted husband Herbert, whom she married on June 28, 1958. She was also predeceased by her parents, John and Judith Helgeson, and her brother Burnie Helgeson.

Audrey leaves behind her cherished siblings: Jan Helgeson, Kevin (Karen) Helgeson, and Doreen Novacosky.

She will be deeply missed by her loving children:

  • Lorelle Wilde, and grandchildren Jesse, Cody (Talia), and Cheyenne (Brennen)
  • Cheryl Wilde, and grandchildren Chelsi and Lindsay
  • Michele Wilde, our beloved “Mich”
  • Martin (Krista) Wilde, and grandchildren Trinity, Dayanara, and Cienna

Audrey was also blessed with eight great-grandchildren—Glamour, Charlotte, Tave, Kove, Bowen, Sadie, Ember, and Cayde—who lovingly called her “GiGi.” She took great joy in spending time with them, both in person and through FaceTime.

Audrey lived a full and vibrant life. She was remarkably healthy and active, never one to slow down. She had many passions including walking, reading, baking from scratch, sewing, canning, knitting, playing cards, crocheting, crafting stained glass, upholstering furniture, gardening and volunteering at the Catholic Women’s League Clothing Depot. She also proudly served on her condo association board.

Professionally, Audrey worked as a bookkeeper for many years and continued preparing income tax returns right up until her final days. Her dedication and creativity left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.

Audrey was recently diagnosed with aggressive Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, a battle she faced with grace and strength.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cosmopolitan Industries in Saskatoon, a cause dear to her heart.

“Life can change in the blink of an eye. Tell the people you love, that you love them; do the scary things; and just enjoy the moment!!”

Our deepest thanks to the first responders and the compassionate staff at Royal University Hospital ER for their care and support.

A private interment of Audrey’s cremated remains will take place at a later date at St. Michael’s Parish Cemetery in Cudworth, SK.
