Clifford Parkinson

It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my dear husband Cliff. He was born in Kamsack, Sask., April 17th, 1944 and received all his schooling there. He had been a Queen Scout and was presented his Queen Scout ring from the Queen herself in Regina when she was visiting here in Canada in 1959. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1963. The ships he served on included HMCS Assiniboine, HMCS Bonaventure and HMCS Stradacona. He took his discharge as an Able Seaman in August of 1966. He started at the IMC (potash mine) as an instrument technician from 1966-68 and then moved to the Cominco Potash Mine in Saskatoon for the construction of the mine site and again worked there as an instrument technician from 1968-69. He worked at Brenda Mines (copper) in Peachland, BC., for startup Dec 1969-71. He transferred to Bell Copper (Noranda) at Granisle, BC., as the instrument supervisor 1971-84. At that time he also worked at a startup of a phosphate plant in Lakeland, Florida as a project supervisor. While working in Granisle he assisted many resident RCMP members as an auxiliary member until he left Granisle in 1985. He started at Amok (later Cogema) which became known as Areva) at Cluff Lake, Sask in 1986-2003 as an instrument technician/maintenance supervisor until his retirement. In 2023 he received a certificate in recognition of his service to the RCMP by the E Division Auxiliary Program coordinator. During retirement he and Mary-Ann enjoyed their cabin at Madge Lake, Sask. Cliff had spent many summers there (75 years) during his lifetime and had many happy memories of fishing, entertaining and renovating the family cabin.

Cliff is survived by his loving wife, of 40 years, Mary-Ann, his daughter Kelly and her husband Peter, two granddaughters, Katelynn and Danielle and her husband Donovan, two great grandchildren Bryson and Verity, his son Terry and his partner Lisa, granddaughter Alexis, his brother-in-law Pat and sister-in-law Anita Coombes.

There will be no service. MAID and cremation have taken place
