ERIKA KLINGER

 March 11, 1931 - December 10, 2025

Our beloved Mother, Erika Klinger, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 10, 2025. We, her children, will miss her forever, but are thankful her challenges as a result of a stroke in 2023 are now over.

Mom was born in Goldingen, Latvia on March 11, 1931. She was adopted by Ludwig & Ida Klinger at a young age. After fleeing to Goslar, Germany during World War II, the family immigrated to Canada in 1949. She married Roy Klinger on October 28, 1950.

Mom was greatly loved and leaves to mourn her passing, her children Werner (Michelle Peltier), Ede (Ed Fast), Ernie (Sally Hui) and David (Gisele Dumonceaux), 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Ron (2014) and her husband, Roy (2016).

Mom will be dearly remembered for her positive personality, her amazing, genuine smiles, giving spirit, resilience and her example of forgiveness and unconditional love. She could be counted on by those needing support, encouragement or a heart-to-heart conversation, and, given her sense of humour, also enjoyed a good laugh. She lived her faith humbly in everyday life.  She had a remarkable gift of creating anything related to sewing, quilting, crocheting or knitting, to name a few. She made countless quilts, almost all given to others, and sewed many wedding gowns. Mom also had a beautiful singing voice and was involved in music throughout her adult life. It seemed her talents knew no bounds!

At the age of 86, Mom moved to Saskatoon. She loved living in Luther Riverside Terrace. Every time, as we approached her home there, she would smile and say, "home sweet home". Mom, you have arrived at your final destination.  "Home Sweet Home", indeed. We will love and miss you always.

Special thanks to all at Sherbrooke Community Centre for your loving care of our Mom.

Our Mother's Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
