Frederick Carl George Pflug

November 18, 1948 — October 25, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Frederick Carl George Pflug, at the age of 77 on October 25th, 2025 at Glengarda Hospice in Saskatoon, SK.

Fred will be greatly missed by his daughters. Angela Naclia (Kris), Crystal Pflug (Barret Baldwin), Jody Zamonsky (Steven), granddaughter Brooklyn Tokarz (Travis), and four grandsons Lukas, Logan, Axton, Alexander, and by many family and friends.

Fred was predeceased by his parents John and Rhea, brother Byron, nephew James Demjan, and Brenda Pflug, the mother of their daughters.

Fred was born in Beechy, SK on November 18th, 1948 to John and Rhea Pflug. Fred was the youngest of four siblings. He grew up on the old Pflug farm just off Birsay Road. He moved to Dinsmore, SK at the age of ten. Some of his favorite places to go were Spring Lake, Clearwater Lake, and to the drive in. As a teenager he spread his wings and hit the open road working various mines from Flin Flon, MB, Ontario, and the Yukon. He found his way back to his Saskatchewan roots where he met and married Brenda Loberg in 1978. Together they built a family of three daughters Angela (1978), Crystal, (1980), and Jody (1981). They raised their family in Saskatoon and the Dundurn area. Over the years he worked for Coca Cola, Cory Potash, and farming with his dad. Fred moved to Fort McMurray, AB in the 90’s where he worked for Northland Forest Products. He remained in Alberta until retirement. He made his way back to Saskatchewan to the farm and closer to his daughters and grandchildren.

Many weekends and holidays were spent hanging out playing crib games, having camp fires, or watching the grandkids activities. There was many family May Longs, pumpkin carving, Grey Cup celebrations, ugly sweater parties, birthdays, and any excuse to hang out together.

Fred enjoyed cooking, the sport of curling, cheering for the Roughriders and the Blue Jays. He also enjoyed collecting vehicles and had a great passion for collecting coins and stamps. He loved his cats and especially his Tommy Boy.

Fred could make a friend with anyone he crossed paths with. He had the gift of gab. He was famous for his coffee row pop-ins at all hours. Fred had a larger-than-life personality and brought a smile to any room he walked in. He had a generous heart to help out anyone whether they were family, or friend.

The family gives their sincerest thanks and gratitude to all the staff at Glengarda Hospice for Fred’s care.

In lieu of flowers, Donations can be made to the Hospice at Glengarda, 1702 20th Street West, Saskatoon, SK S7M 0Z9, sphfsk.ca

There will be no service, a private Celebration of Life will be held with his daughters.
