Gail Frances Margaret Kurmey

Gail Frances Margaret Kurmey, born on August 2, 1956, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2025, at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, with her loving family by her side. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, and proud grandmother who brought joy and laughter to everyone around her.

Gail graduated from E.D. Feehan Collegiate in 1974, and that same year, she married the love of her life, Donald Kurmey. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love and cherished memories. Their two children, Stacey and Darren Kurmey, were a source of immense pride for Gail, as were her seven beloved grandchildren, whom she adored with all her heart. Those kids sure loved their Baba.

Her most recent career before retirement saw her excel as a Life Insurance Manager in Saskatchewan with Wawanesa Insurance which she enjoyed for many years, but it was her vibrant personality that truly shone through. Gail had a great sense of humour and an adventurous spirit. She loved to travel, particularly to Las Vegas and Hawaii, where she created unforgettable memories with her family. She also may have had a slight addiction to the game "Slotomania" on her phone, makes sense considering how much she loved Vegas!

In addition to her travels, Gail had a passion for cooking and baking. She loved to host, and boy was she good at it! She found immense joy in planting flowers in her garden, cultivating beauty all around her. The time spent at the family cabin at Weyakwin Lake, where they made lasting memories over 14 years, was one of her treasured highlights. She cherished the times they visited family in Kelowna, often making the trip twice a year.

Gail's proudest accomplishment was her family, and her legacy of love and laughter will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched. She will be deeply missed by her husband, Don, their daughter Stacey (Jack) and their children; Kayla, Katie, Quinn, and Kade, their son Darren (Christin) and their children; Neveah, Jasper, and Kenzie. As well as all who had the privilege of knowing her.

As per Gail’s wishes there will be no funeral.
