Our beloved Gail came into the world on March 26th, 1967. We knew from her first days that she was a fighter, and she remained that way throughout the course of her entire life. Gail was born with a very rare condition called arthrogryposis but it didn't define her. She was fiercely independent from a very young age and adapted so well that we sometimes forgot she had a disability. She could do anything we could do just in a different way and she proved that every single day.
Gail went to school in Melfort and graduated there in 1985. She worked various jobs around town while she raised her babies as a young single mom.
Her prayers were answered when she met and married the true love of her life Rob Simpson. From that moment on, 2 became 1 and they blended everyone together beautifully while adding one more to their family.
Gail spent many years working at Shoppers Drug Mart and raising their kids in Star City, Melfort and Warman before eventually moving to Saskatoon in 2008. After 17 years, Gail left Shoppers for good and was incredibly happy to be hired on to work at B & G Accounting until early this year when she became too ill to continue.
Gail absolutely adored her husband Rob and they had a love that burned brighter with every year they spent together. They not only said their vows, they lived them... for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death parted them, they were there for each other to face everything life threw at them.
Gail loved her family so much and excelled in her roles of mom, grandma, great grandma, and caregiver. As her family grew, so did her love for them and they made countless wonderful memories together. Gail also loved to travel and was able to see and explore many countries with Rob and their family. Her motto was "Do it while you can" and she did! Pictures and stories of their happiest times are helping us to get through our darkest days.
When Gail became ill last November, she faced it as she faced every other challenge in her life...with patience, courage and strength that very few possess. She never gave up and continued fighting until her last breath when God mercifully ended her suffering.
We will all miss her dearly and we're devastated that she had to leave us too soon but God had bigger plans for her. We take comfort in knowing that because of her faith in Jesus, she's now in heaven pain free and whole again with her daughter Amanda, nephew Hajner, her parents and many more loved ones who went to heaven before us.
Gail leaves to mourn her loving husband Rob, her children Scott, Mahlon (Chelsey) and Angela (Marshall), grandchildren Summer (Darian), Acacia (Tony), Zane (Steph) Tyrone, Cash, Jax, Ava and Myles, great grandchildren Eli, Luca, Isabella and Willow as well as her siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
Heaven gained a beautiful soul when Gail left us on July 31st. She will forever be loved and cherished by all who were lucky enough to know her.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 15th at 12pm at Cornerstone Church, 315 Lenore Drive, Saskatoon. Lunch to follow. The service will also live-streamed for those unable to attend.
