Gerald Carl Henriksen

Gerald sadly passed away on Friday, May 22, 2026, with his darling bride Janice, and sister Shirley at his side.

Gerald is survived by his wife Janice; sisters Shirley (Jim) and Pat (Robert); nieces Janelle and her children Brodi and Ty; Lindsay (Nathan) and their children Sydney and Easton. He is also survived by Janice's siblings Melvin, Keith, Linda (Murray), Colette (Dominick), Ian, and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Anne, and Jan's parents, George and Hilda, and in-laws Janice, Norman, and Linus.

Gerald loved fishing, fireworks, and the summer fair. He enjoyed the outdoors, whether at the family cabin or, more recently, in his immaculate backyard. His whistling could rival any bird in the yard, and his hearty laugh was a familiar and welcome sound to family and friends alike. He enjoyed travel, from relaxing on a Mexican beach with friends, taking in the magic of Disneyland, or exploring the history, architecture, food, and culture of Europe.Together with Janice, Gerald was known for being a wonderful host, sharing many meals, games, and laughter in their home. He was talented at cooking and barbecuing, and at Christmas was known for his best-ever butter tarts. Great nieces and nephews enjoyed their special adventures with Uncle Gerald.

Gerald's career was varied and included hotel management, sales, food product and recipe development using Saskatchewan ingredients, supporting value-added food processing, and later helping people meet their oxygen requirements. Throughout his career and life, he brought creativity, attention to detail, and an eye for design to everything he did. No matter the task, Gerald took pride in showcasing it and himself well.

"You never know how strong you are, until being strong is your only choice."
