Jacqueline (Jacquie) Lindgren April 26, 1942 – November 10, 2025

It is with heavy hearts and deep love that we share the passing of Jacqueline (Jacquie) Lindgren (nee Newell) on November 10, 2025, at the age of 83.

Jacquie was born in Prince Rupert, BC, on April 26, 1942, and grew up and made her home in Saskatoon, where she spent her life surrounded by family and friends. She met the love of her life, Wayne, at the University of Saskatchewan’s ‘Ag Bag Drag’, and the two were married in 1962— beginning a partnership filled with laughter, friendship, and devotion that lasted more than six decades.

Jacquie worked for many years as a school secretary at Fairhaven and Forest Grove Schools, where she was known for her kindness, quick smile, and ability to make everyone—from students to teachers to parents—feel welcome and cared for.

A creative spirit at heart, Jacquie enjoyed all kinds of crafts, and her family often thought that she had tried them all at least once. Her true passion, however, was knitting—a craft through which she poured her love into countless gifts for family, friends, and various not for profit organizations. Jacquie had an incredible gift for friendship, forming lasting bonds wherever she went—whether at work, through her volunteer efforts, or among her knitting circle. In recent years, as her health declined, she found new friendships and support through online communities.

Jacquie will be dearly missed by her loving husband Wayne; her children Nancy (Kris) and David (Jen); her grandchildren Chris (Beth), Trent (Jessica), and Jackson; and her great-grandchildren Jason and Ellie. She was predeceased by her beloved son Randy, her parents Cyril and Helen Newell, and her stepmom Elva Newell.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Pulmonary Hypertension Association of Canada (www.phacanada.ca) in Jacquie’s memory.

The date and time for a come-and-go Celebration of Life will be announced in the coming days.
