Lived in Grondlin until 1951 when the family moved to Saskatoon. Attended Nutana Collegiate, graduating in 1955. His first and only job was with the PFRA as a geo-tech technician. Retired at the end of 1991 after 36 years of dedicated service.

He married in 1958 and he and Joyce began their new life journey together, enjoying all that life offered. They shared many good things, including two fine boys and four wonderful grandchildren.

Pete enjoyed the outdoors - yard work, fishing, camping, hiking, even the many field trips during his drilling days at work.

He had an interest in sports - as a spectator, mainly. Although he did try his hand at curling, golfing, refereeing hockey. CFL football was his favourite - always an avid Saskatchewan Rough Rider fan - preferred watching from the comforts of home. He was a good armchair coach and referee. He was a big fan of Charlie Russell, a painter of the Old West. He collected paintings and books and made a special trip to the Charlie Russell Museum in Great Falls, Montana.

Although he enjoyed his many trips after retiring he was mostly happy just staying at home and puttering around. He always said there is nothing like your own bed when you crawl in at night.
