Rosealine Kozushka

May 15, 1946 — May 18, 2025

It is with much shock and sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Rosealine Julia Marie Kozushka (Azure) on Sunday, May 18, 2025 at Royal University Hospital.

Mom was born May 15,1946, the youngest of 8 children in St Laurent, Saskatchewan.

The years of her childhood were filled with much joy and love.

At age 15 she went to live with a school teacher, Simone Gareau and became the babysitter of two small children. On the farm she cared for the children, cooked for farm hands and did other chores as needed. Even today those children still remember the love, care and endless singing that mom would do on the farm.

Mom then moved to Saskatoon where she met and married, Warren Kozushka and went on to have 2 children. In addition to caring for her children and husband, Mom worked at various jobs as a waitress at the now, Broadway cafe, cleaning at Saskatoon court house and childcare at Fairhaven Bowl. It is at Fairhaven Bowl that mom saved the life of a SIDS baby after watching episodes on Quincy. After the divorce of Warren Kozushka and when her kids were grown, mom moved to Prince Albert where she opened up a coffee shop, Solo's soup and Sandwich shop. The years working at the shop were hard but prosperous. With having a Cheers atmosphere and having everything, homemade it soon became the talk of PA for many years. After her health declined and retirement, the shop was sold and she then returned to Saskatoon, where she could be close to her daughter and grandaughter. She moved to Fairview Court in Saskatoon where she made many friends, especially, Al, Lyndon, Sharon, Ann, Nora, June who she loved and who all loved her dearly.

After many health problems and the diagnosis of Dementia she passed away suddenly and peacefully at RUH

She leaves behind her beloved children, Pam Waldbillig (Curtis) and Jordan Kozushka. Granddaughters; Sarah Parkes, Shallyn Waldbillig and Abigail Kozushka. Sisters; Mryt Kostiuk and Delphine Stewart. Sister in law, Theresa Azure, and brother in law, Nick Wasyliw as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. Predeasesed by her parents; Nora and Jules Azure, her brother, Alban Azure and her sisters, Gertrude Vandale, Agnes Ethier, Jeannette Wasyliw.

As per mom's wishes there will be no funeral but a barbecue will be held with joy, remembrance and love of mom for family and friends to be announced on Facebook shortly.

Mom's ashes will be spread at the St.Laurent Shrine and interred between her mother and father in Batoche National Park cemetery.

Many thanks to Dr. Daffy and reception girls. The Gem program at City Hospital who made mom's last few weeks filled with joy, love and excitement for life again. To all, who touched mom's life, we love you all!
