Ted Alan Gallagher

Ted Gallagher, 67, of Beavercreek, Ohio died in Saskatchewan, Canada on June 19, 2026.

Ted was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1959 to Eugene and Violet Gallagher. He grew up in Worthington, Ohio, where he attended Worthington Schools before earning his degree in Astronomy at The Ohio State University and joining the United States Air Force.

Ted married his high school sweetheart, Melissa, in 1982. Their daughters, Emily and Molly, were born in 1987 and 1989. While in the Air Force, Ted served as a B-52 radar navigator and served in Operation Desert Storm, for which he received a Medal of Honor. Following his military service, Ted worked as a project manager and engineer for various defense contractors before returning to government service with the Air Force Research Laboratory at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base until his retirement in 2021.

Ted was an avid reader and, in recent years, a recreational cyclist. He loved outdoor adventures and when he was not spending time with his family, his idea of a vacation was a long camping and canoeing trip in a remote area of the northern United States or Canada with his childhood best friend, Doug Heym. He cherished his wife, daughters, and grandchildren above all else.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Violet Gallagher. He is survived by his wife, Melissa Gallagher, his daughters, Emily (Peter) Montion and Molly (Mike Martin) Gallagher, and his grandchildren, Margaret, Elizabeth, Irene, and Peter. He is also survived by his siblings, Kathleen (Daniel Lissman) Gallagher, Michael (Leesa) Gallagher, Terry (Beth) Gallagher, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A gathering in memory of Ted will be held on August 22, 2026 from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. at the Beavercreek Golf Club, 2800 New Germany Trebein Road, Beavercreek, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations to TheLifeYouCanSave.org are greatly appreciated.
